As part of the criminal law practice review for the TOP 50 law firms in Ukraine 2026 published by Legal Practice (Yurydychna Praktyka), EVERLEGAL Partner Taras Ivanenko shared his professional perspective on the key challenges facing criminal law and criminal procedure in wartime conditions.
Defence in criminal cases in 2025, with a particular focus on white collar crime and anti-corruption proceedings as well as war-related and defence matters, has become one of the core practice areas for many Ukrainian law firms. This is driven both by increased activity of law enforcement authorities and by attempts at institutional reshaping of criminal procedure amid the war and heightened public expectations.
