EVERLEGAL lawyer Valeriia Kasiar spoke at the "Criminal Justice in Wartime" forum
On April 15–16, the "Criminal Justice in Wartime" forum was held in Lviv. EVERLEGAL supported the event as a partner. The two days were filled with speaker presentations, discussions, and new networking opportunities. The event was organised by the NGO Law Students’ Union (OSP Lviv) in collaboration with the Departments of Criminal Law and Criminology, as well as Criminal Procedure and Forensic Science at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
EVERLEGAL lawyer Valeriia Kasiar spoke on the topic: "Legal Risks of Identifying the Bodies of Fallen Soldiers Through DNA Testing."
The discussion covered the technical and forensic foundation of DNA identification, Ukraine's legal framework, procedural mechanisms of identification, legal risks in DNA identification of the deceased, the practice of identification in Ukraine during wartime, changes in approaches and practices, and gaps in Ukrainian regulation.
