EVERLEGAL lawyer Lesya Baginska joined the NABU meeting on environmental regulation issues
On 6 August, a meeting between the banking sector, the State Regulatory Service of Ukraine, the Entrepreneurship Development Fund and the Association of Environmental Professionals was held at the office of the Independent Association of Ukrainian Banks (NABU). The event was devoted to discussing practical issues related to the application of the provisions of the Law of Ukraine ‘On environmental impact assessment’.
EVERLEGAL lawyer Lesya Baginska, an expert in environmental compliance and ESG regulation, joined the discussion alongside representatives from banks and government agencies.
The participants discussed:
- challenges for investment projects within the framework of the ‘Affordable Loans 5-7-9%’ programme, particularly in terms of environmental requirements;
- the balance between adhering to the principles of sustainable development and stimulating economic growth;
- the need to improve the implementation of the Law ‘On Environmental Impact Assessment’ in order to avoid formal barriers to business;
- the importance of open dialogue between the state, banks and experts to coordinate approaches in the field of ESG.
This meeting was an important step towards establishing clear and effective rules for entrepreneurs who need affordable financing in a war economy.
The EVERLEGAL team continues to work actively in the field of ESG and environmental law, helping businesses find practical solutions for responsible development.
