The global trend of plastic ban: legislative initiatives in Ukraine

As of today, the amount of plastic is so excessive that processing alone is not enough to cope with it. To achieve the goal of sustainable development № 12 (Ensuring the transition to rational models of consumption and production) and the joint solution of an urgent problem, countries around the world are implementing initiatives to abandon plastic.

One of the most successful cases of implementation of legislative initiatives to abandon plastic in Ukraine is the recently adopted Law of Ukraine "On Restricting the Circulation of Plastic Bags in Ukraine" № 1489-IX of June 1, 2021.
