The EVERLEGAL team has completed first aid training
Every year, the EVERLEGAL team takes part in first aid training. It is particularly valuable for new colleagues and those who have not attended before. For those who have, it offers an opportunity to refresh their knowledge: skills fade without practice, while first aid protocols continue to evolve.
This time, colleagues completed Stop the Bleed training on controlling life-threatening bleeding. The programme follows Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) protocols adapted for civilian use. The session was led by Oleksii, a certified TCCC instructor and an instructor at the NGO ‘Skhid Tactical Medicine Centre’.
Participants learnt how to:
- recognise different types of life-threatening bleeding;
- apply a tourniquet and a bandage;
- pack a wound;
- assess a casualty for injuries and place them in the recovery position;
- call an ambulance and provide the necessary information;
- put together a first aid kit suited to today’s needs.
Most of the session focused on practice: participants applied tourniquets, practised wound packing on simulators and worked through casualty care scenarios. Those who successfully completed the four-hour practical course in bleeding control received certificates from the NGO ‘Skhid Tactical Medicine Centre’.
We believe everyone needs first aid skills. Above all, these skills help us protect ourselves in a critical situation and can also enable us to save the lives of those around us. We encourage everyone to take a course and refresh their practical skills regularly.

Our lawyer Valeriia Kasiar regularly initiates and organises first aid training for the team. We thank Valeriia for caring for our colleagues, instructor Oleksii for his knowledge and patience, and Khartiia Hub for its hospitality.
You can support the Khartiia Corps by becoming a ‘Guardian of Khartiia’. This monthly subscription starts at UAH 100 and enables the corps to purchase drones, electronic warfare equipment and evacuation equipment in advance, before they are needed on the front line. You choose which area to support: ‘Strike’, ‘Advantage’ or ‘Rescue’. After each purchase, the corps publishes a report detailing how the funds were spent.
