Event organised by the UBA Agrarian Law Committee: discussion of disputes under supply agreements

On 15 May, in Kyiv, the UBA organised an event on ‘Supply contract disputes in the agricultural sector: recent trends and national court practice’, featuring speakers from EVERLEGAL's agricultural and land law practice, Svitlana Teteria and Oleksandra Kravets.

In their speeches, they emphasised the key risks for parties to supply contracts, presented practical examples of representing clients in commercial disputes and offered specific advice on contractual wording in light of legislative changes.

Key insights from the event:

  • Participants discussed important aspects of court practice relating to debt collection under supply contracts. This included the process of proving damages and the application of force majeure under martial law.
  • Particular attention was paid to the impending cancellation of the Commercial Code of Ukraine on 28 August 2025 and its potential ramifications for contractual practice.
  • The risks of legal uncertainty were also discussed, as well as the need to adapt internal policies and contracts to the new environment.

We would like to thank the event organisers and all the participants for their active involvement and valuable contributions to the discussions. It was a pleasure to take part in discussions about practical cases that are of real concern to the business community.
