EVERLEGAL and ESG Liga PAEW Discuss Key Challenges in the ESG sector
On September 29, 2025, EVERLEGAL, in collaboration with ESG Liga PAEW, organized a special session titled "ESG in Action: Sustainability Awards and New Benchmarks," bringing together representatives from the banking and financial sectors, industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, energy, as well as lawyers, ecologists, and compliance specialists.
During the event, experts discussed the current challenges and practical solutions regarding the implementation of ESG standards in Ukraine. The discussion highlighted the importance of integrating ESG approaches to maintain business competitiveness, especially in times of crisis. Key topics included new regulatory trends, the risks of greenwashing, and the need to meet environmental and social standards to attract international financing.
As noted by the Partner of EVERLEGAL Oleksandr Ruzhytskyi in his presentation, ESG is not only about responsibility, but also about long-term sustainability and risk reduction, providing competitive advantages. He emphasized that ESG has become a necessity for ensuring sustainable business development, strengthening investor and partner trust, and reducing financial and reputational risks.
The head of ESG Liga PAEW emphasized the importance of implementing changes today, stating that “ESG is the currency of trust for post-war financing and markets. There is no ‘later.’ We must act now.” She stressed the importance of collecting and verifying data to create a real sustainability strategy.
The event served as a platform for discussing practical steps in the ESG sphere, aimed at helping businesses adapt to new regulatory requirements and develop sustainable business practices.
