EVERLEGAL representative Lesia Baginska took part in Pro Horeca EXPO & Summit
Lesia Baginska, Attorney-at-Law and Environmental Compliance & ESG Regulation Lawyer at EVERLEGAL, joined Pro Horeca EXPO & Summit, an industry event for hospitality sector representatives focused on sustainability, ESG and efficient resource management.
As part of the “Building the Future” block, Lesia delivered a presentation on: “Sustainability through Law: Mistakes That Cost Businesses Financial Losses, Reputational Damage and Business Disruption”.
Among the most critical issues discussed were:
- absence or improper execution of permitting documentation;
- failure to comply with EIA requirements and breaches of land and water legislation;
- failure to implement HACCP;
- non-compliance with legal requirements related to facility registration and obtaining operational permits;
- business liability, inspection risks, sanctions and suspension of operations.
Particular attention was paid to the fact that martial law has changed the way businesses operate but has not removed liability for violations that create risks to people’s life and health, the environment, and business operations themselves.
During the event, participants also discussed the importance of a systematic compliance approach, auditing permitting documentation and assessing risks as a foundation for sustainable business development.
