XI LEGAL BANKING FORUM: EVERLEGAL Counsel spoke on recovering war-related losses for banks
On February 25, the XI LEGAL BANKING FORUM took place in Kyiv, traditionally organised by Yurydychna Praktyka.
The final session of the forum focused on dispute resolution in the banking sector, where Yuliia Vorontsova, EVERLEGAL Counsel and an expert on war-related damage compensation, was a featured speaker.
Yuliia shared insights on Ukrainian court rulings related to disputes over compensation for war damages suffered by banks.
As Yuliia highlighted, key aspects to consider when filing claims against the russian federation include:
- Strong evidentiary base
- Determining proper jurisdiction and territorial competence
- Ensuring proper notification of the rf and other parties, including translation of procedural documents into the official language of all participants
- Overcoming russia's state immunity in court
